Scramble!

In an effort to make Toronto more pedestrian friendly some of the intersections, for example Yonge and Dundas, are going to become scramble intersections.  This is such a GREAT idea and I have no idea why it has not been adopted earlier.  While living in New Zealand I noticed that almost all major intersections, no matter what size of a city you were in, were scramble intersections.  They also favour large round abouts instead of traffic lights to keep up the flow of traffic.  Maybe that is the next step for Toronto.
